Open House
On October 22 Silver Oak Academy hosted our third annual Open House event to the public. Our students were able to show their 2011 accomplishments to the community. It started with the jazz band performing two songs under the direction of Mr. Tim Andrulonis.
The education staff presented a year in review 2011. Led by Mrs. Joseph’s educational team the student body was recognized for their outstanding community service hours for the 2011 year of 3031 hours. This year 21 students will or have graduated high school from Silver Oak Academy.
On the athletic front the football team won the 7 on 7 passing competition this past summer, they competed in eight competitions this summer, namely Towson State University, University of Maryland, and Under Amour Tournament in Frederick Md.

It was a year of firsts in 2011, the medical department, led by Nurse Beth sponsored Silver Oaks first health fair. We finished the Open House by having our Guest Speaker Ambassador Blango motivate the students to achieve, despite negative stereotypes of them. As usual we would like to thank our Culinary Arts Program for a professionally prepared meal for our Open House.
