Union Bridge Lions Club was invited to Silver Oak Academy for a tour and dinner on September 27, 2011. Our students SA Pierre, SA Lewis provided a tour for 23 members of the Lions along with 2 future members of the Lions Club. The students at Silver Oak Academy over the past 2 years have completed many service projects for the Lions Club, but little did we know that the Lions Clubs main focus is to provide community service to the community and promote leadership with the youth. We feel like we have this in common with the Lions Club we look to instill leadership skills with our students through our skill development groups, athletics and community service projects.

The Lions Clubs is an international organization dedicated to serving its community, below are the Lions Clubs out expectations for its clubs that exist throughout the world.

Objective: To provide the youth of the world with an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible members of the local, national and international community.

We were honored to host the Lions Club meeting at Silver Oak and we look forward to following in their footsteps, commitment to the community through community service and support to our youth by developing leadership opportunities for their growth.
